The term “Indigo Children” was first used publicly by a parapsychologist and psychic, named Nancy Ann Tappe in the 1970’s. Indigo Children was how she described the children she noticed were born with Indigo auras. They are considered to be ones who think outside of the box, do not follow the status quo, have a strong sense of purpose and cannot be easily manipulated.
Children born with an Indigo aura have the ability to see things for what they are and can remind us to stay true to what we know. They should be prized for their uniqueness, endless potential, and ability to build upon or even evolve the knowledge that we have gained so far. They are, however, only one very specific set of children because each child is born with an aura.

Notice that children born with a Red aura are vibrant! They are energetic, passionate, and have great stamina! These children remind us of how active we used to be and often require that we run behind them, just to keep up! They should be prized for their uniqueness, endless potential, and ability to build upon or even evolve the knowledge that we have gained so far…as well.
Each and every child, born with a particular aura plays a vital role in our evolution. Each one has brought with them gifts from past lives that should not be ignored nor dismissed. Despite this inescapable truth, the Indigo Children have been singled out and the term itself has been greatly over-used and almost abused in recent years.
Some parents seek to know the aura of their child to gain the understanding of how to help them develop the strengths or gifts that child has to offer. Other parents, however, who wish to prove their child’s superiority over others, like to promote the belief that their child is the “brightest and best” around. Even further, there are some adults who think that children of a specific ethnic group should be prized greatly above others, despite the range of abilities that each group possesses.
Of all who are born, some have a concentration of one color in particular and some display a very distinct combination. Throughout life, each person exhibits different auras at specific times depending on their mood or what stage of growth and development they are in. Many people have a tendency to exhibit one more often than all of the others.
